About ShotokanShop
ShotokanShop offers one of Scandinavia’s largest selections of specialty products targeted against the practitioners of Karate! All products are produced in our own factories in Asia and Europe.
ShotokanShop’s goal is to deliver uniforms and accessories designed by karate practitioners of karate practitioners (therefore the slogan: For Fighters by Fighters) with great emphasis on quality, integrity and respect for the traditional karate / budo values, environment and the employers conditions.
KAITEN/ShotokanShop’s history
1976: Student of Sensei Hiroshi Shirai, Horst Hinschberger, establish a business whose aim is to produce and deliver karate uniforms that meets the requirements and principles set by the many years he has lived and trained for.
2004: ShotokanShop Denmark is established to manage the increasing demand for quality uniforms in Denmark, which is produced in respect to the environment and workers.
2007: KAITEN has more than 150 employees in production and distribution around the world. The name has changed from Kamikaze to KAITEN, because the company has been divided into 2 different companies. In the U.S. KAITEN products sold under the name Tokon.
2008: ShotokanShop Sweden AB, is established to manage the increasing demand of KAITEN products in the rest of Scandinavia. A local stock in Denmark and Sweden is established to ensure quick delivery to all of Scandinavia. We have made business agreements with many of the large karate organizations in Scandinavia.
